Sun June Premiere New Song: Stream “Records” At Npr
Rapidly rising Sun June have shared a new song from their upcoming full-length, Years.
Strikingly soft and touchingly lonesome, “Records” stands out in this Austin band’s debut, a masterful collection of indie pop gems that far exceed the fresh fivesome’s experience. NPR premiered the song, stating, “Sun June’s music is something that comes in snatches, wisps that captivate and escape the ear with all the airy weight of dust rising from an Austin floorboard on every beat of a muffled drum.”

Years is due June 15 via Keeled Scales, home to kindred talent like Julia Lucille, Big Thief’s Buck Meek and more. This summer, the band will embark upon an extensive US tour, playing select dates with Caroline Says, Julia Lucille and more. They’ll spend the fall overseas, making their EU/UK debut.
Today’s song follows “Young,” a thoughtfully thumping visit with the past that found its way onto reputed playlists like Fresh Finds and NPR’s Staff Picks, “Discotheque,” an equally resonant reminiscence picked up by New Indie Mix and YouTube’s taste-making Coffee Shop Blend, and “Slow Rise II,” hailed by Consequence of Sound, Indie Shuffle and more.
