The increase of out queer rappers is beginning to define the next generation of hip-hop.
As time goes on, more and more artists are beginning to open up about their diverse sexualities, especially within the hip-hop community. Historically, it has not been easy for many rappers to share their honest preferences. In honor of National Coming Out Day, we are highlighting a few artists within the hip-hop community that are proud members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Here are 3 hip-hop artists that are proud members of the queer community:
1. Kevin Abstract
The texas rapper came out as gay in 2016 and has been releasing music openly mentioning his sexuality ever since. Kevin has been a big part of the LGBTQ+ community, expressing both his queer struggles and sharing queer joy.
2. Big Freedia
