Electronic producer and DJ Hans Glader has released his new EP, ‘SLICE,’ out today via Bluewerks / Capitol Records.
This latest installment in the acclaimed Bluewerks series—an innovative partnership between Astralwerks and the iconic Blue Note Records—highlights Glader’s signature fusion of UK Garage-inspired grooves with soulful, jazz-infused soundscapes.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and now based in Los Angeles, Hans Glader leverages his deep-rooted background as a drummer to craft rhythmically intricate productions. Bluewerks Vol 17: SLICE channels Glader’s Bay Area roots, blending hyphy’s gritty bounce with UKG’s syncopated grooves. Layered live drums, warped analog synths, and jazz-inflected melodies collide across the EP, showcasing his knack for weaving intricate rhythms into dancefloor-ready tracks. Subtle quirks—chopped vocal samples, off-kilter basslines—add playful depth, a hallmark of Glader’s “Easter egg” production style.
A veteran of labels like Night Bass, Local Action, and Insomniac, Glader has earned nods from UKG heavyweights like DJ Q and Sammy Virji for his genre-blurring approach. His previous releases have resonated globally, landing on respected labels including Night Bass, Insomniac’s In Rotation, Bite This!, Local Action, Kiwi Rekords, and Wub Club, among others.
Glader’s work reflects his dual identity: technical drummer, analog synth enthusiast, and lifelong student of global bass culture. SLICE marks his debut on Bluewerks, joining a roster celebrated for pushing electronic subgenres forward. With ‘Bluewerks Vol. 17: SLICE,’ Hans Glader further solidifies his reputation for innovative production, positioning himself as an artist committed to pushing electronic music forward while staying true to his distinctively playful and genre-blurring sound. More music to come this year.
