Florida, the home of treating yourself, ranks second with a score of 418.5. Its luxury appeal is driven by a ‘vacation mindset’, with millions of visitors arriving each year ready to splurge, and an abundance of high-end destinations such as Palm Beach and Miami. The state has 60 luxury car dealerships, alongside 161 Michelin Guide restaurants, 233 luxury hotels, and 33 luxury fashion retailers, making it clear Floridians have a strong appetite for luxury.
Taking third place is the Big Apple, scoring 410.2. With world-famous shopping districts like Fifth Avenue and one of the largest tourism industries in the country, it’s no surprise the Big Apple ranks so highly. Not only is it a hotspot for shopping in style, but the city has everything from lavish dining to luxury stays. The state is home to 25 luxury car dealerships, 373 Michelin Guide restaurants, 66 luxury hotels, and 22 luxury fashion retailers, proving that luxury is at the heart of the state’s culture.
Texas ranks fourth place with a score of 392.6, showing that luxurious lifestyles aren’t reserved for the coast. Not only do Dallas Cowboys fans travel from far and wide to the A&T Stadium in Arlington, one of the most expensive stadiums in the world, but they can rest for the night at the fanciest spots, with 97 luxury hotels to choose from. Rounding out the top five is Colorado, scoring 365.4. Its ski resorts attract an abundance of visitors who are happy to spare no expense on the most luxurious mountainous stays and experiences. Not only is the state visually beautiful, but it also delivers when it comes to eating and relaxing in style. With 49 Michelin Guide restaurants and a further 57 high-end dining spots, alongside 13 luxury car dealerships and 5 luxury hotels, Colorado has certainly earned its place in the top five.
