A new study reveals that the average American spends 12 hours per week playing video games, and many are sacrificing sleep, meals, and time with loved ones to be able to game more.

Solitaire Bliss surveyed over 2,000 Americans about their video game habits. Here is what they found:

  • Nearly 3 in 4 (74%) Americans admit to skipping sleep to ensure they get their video game time in.
  • Nearly half of the country admits to playing video games during work hours.
  • 48% of Americans play video games on their phones every day.
  • Puzzle games (like Candy Crush) are the most popular in America.
