Tips for Finding More Time For Self-Care in the Day
Do you feel as though you don’t have as much time as you should during the day?
If so then now is the time for you to make a change. If you follow this guide then you will soon find that it is very easy for you to put a bigger focus on self-care so you can make a positive change that goes on to benefit you for years down the line.
Examine your Attitude
One of the first things you need to do is examine the goals you have. Just like goal-setting, you need to know how to manage your daily activities and you also need to know what happens when you let go of control. If you can do this then you will soon find that you are able to take a different approach and that you can begin to take more ownership over your schedule. When you do this, you can then begin to make the right improvements and this can benefit your health quite a lot. If you can try and free up an hour or so every now and again then this will benefit you even more, as you can devote way more time to self-care.
Look at How You Are Spending your Time
One of the biggest keys to success would be for you to look at how you are analyzing how you spend your day. A time log is great here as it can make you feel as though you can see where your time is going. You can also make changes that stop you from wasting time moving forward which is great to say the least. If you may find that you spend an hour or so picking up takeaway, that you can spend half the time cooking a meal at home. Sure the food might be nicer at a takeaway but at the end of the day, you will soon find that you can free up more time in the day if you simply take note of where your time is going. If you want to devote more time to yourself but don’t think you have enough hours in the day, then games like sudoku can be played in just a few minutes.
Time Management Quadrant
If you feel as though you have a long list of things to do and that everything is just giving you a headache then one thing you can do is use a time management quadrant. Your first quadrant is where you can devote your most important tasks, including getting to work on time or even paying your bills. Quadrant two is for important tasks but that aren’t urgent such as spending time with your family.
Three is not important, but urgent. In this category you should put in answering the phone when it rings for example. The last one is not important and not urgent. You need to devote things like watching TV and even going on Facebook in this category. If you can do this then you will soon find that you are able to get the result you are going for, as you will be able to find out where your hours are going.
