Did Americans’ breakfast habits change with the pandemic?

It looks like they did, according to a new report from Denny’s, one of the largest diner-style restaurant chains in the world.

According to the 2022 Breakfast Consumption Index, a study of breakfast preferences and eating habits of more than 2,000 U.S adults — 55% of Americans have eaten breakfast more frequently during the pandemic compared to before.

Key insights from the report include:

1. THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY IS ALSO THE MOST PREFERRED IN AMERICA.

According to the data, 92% of Americans say they either love or like breakfast.

2. BACON  IS THE KING OF BREAKFAST.

52% of states have chosen bacon as the main breakfast food, followed by eggs (26%), and pancakes (18%).

3. BREAKFAST AWAY FROM HOME

While only 48% of Americas said they would prefer to stay at home and cook breakfast, 52% said they would rather eat it outside.
