Indie-Pop Duo Eighty Ninety Are Back With New Single “10K Summer Nights”
Brooklyn-based indie-pop act Eighty Ninety are returning with their first single of the year, “10K Summer Nights,” available on all streaming platforms today.
Fusing their minimalist production with intimate lyricism and laid-back melodies, the new single is a delicate yet striking record about young, hopelessly romantic love. “10K Summer Nights” kicks off a new phase for Eighty Ninety as they head towards the release of their highly-anticipated sophomore EP, set for a release later this summer.
Eighty Ninety is the project of two brothers, Abner (vocals, production) and Harper (guitar, production). They chose the name Eighty Ninety for the band as they felt it wouldn’t box them into a particular genre or sound, but called to mind everything from decades and eras of music that influence them, to speed limits, radio stations and liquor proofs.
Their break out single, “Three Thirty“ was an instant success, catapulting to #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts. “Three Thirty” was followed by their debut EP Elizabeth, which was supported heavily by Spotify and tastemakers alike. The brothers returned at the end of 2017 with “Your Favorite Song,” which was also remixed by Island Record’s budding electro-pop duo, Loote. To date, the duo have racked up over 22 million Spotify streams and have received praise from Alternative Press, Huffington Post, Galore, LADYGUNN and Ones To Watch, just to name a few.
The past year has been momentous for the indie-pop brothers: they opened for Des Rocs in Brooklyn, toured the East Coast with Savoir Adore, made their SXSW (2018) debut, and even received the stamp of approval from Taylor Swift when she added their single “Your Favorite Song” to her “Songs Taylor Loves” Spotify playlist.
With a recently inked deal with Hard 8 Working Group (home to Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, CYN) and a brand new selection of music on the way, Eighty Ninety are a name to keep on your radar.
