LP Giobbi Releases “Ready to Go” With Boom Dice
DJ, producer, and pianist LP Giobbi is on a hot streak and shows no signs of slowing down.
On Friday, August 2, she releases “Ready to Go,” a collaboration with Grammy-nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Boom Dice (Bryan Wilson), and on Sunday, August 4, she hits the decks on the HARD Stage at HARD SUMMER at 1:40-2:40 PM for one of her trademark high energy sets.
A tech-house stomper, “Ready to Go” opens with a wailing siren that is quickly followed by Boom Dice’s driving percussion and Giobbi’s mesmerizing piano riff. A cool vocal announces, “I’m on and ready to go” as the drums and piano play off each other, creating an irresistible carnivalesque vibe sure to get any dance floor moving.
“I’d been playing around with this piano riff for a few weeks, and when I got to London to work with Bryan, he played me some really cool percussion he’d been working on that went perfectly with it,” LP says. I knew I’d been saving the riff for something special, and that was the thing.” Boom Dice adds, “Anytime we get together in the studio, magic happens, and this was no different. I think our goal is always to take listeners to another planet, to lift and energize them.” “Ready to Go” is released via FEMMEHOUSE and Animal Talk, the label and collective Giobbi co-founded with Sofi Tukker. “Ready to Go” follows the release of Giobbi’s recent intoxicating singles, “Dejala Pasar” and “Slither In“.
To give audiences a taste of her live sets, Giobbi recently released a continuous mix via EDM Identity as part of the official HARD Mixtape series. Of the mixtape, she said, “I wanted to create a journey that started in heaven and ended in hell. My set often follows a similar journey so I used the HARD mix as an opportunity to be really focused on how to get from gospel piano house to big room tribal tracks. It was a challenge and taught me a lot. I’m excited to take the HARD audience on a similar journey when I play for them live.”
LP Giobbi recently wowed audiences at Moogfest and Coachella, with DJ MAG naming her track “Amber Rose” one “20 massive tracks from this year’s Coachella festival.” This will be LP Giobbi’s first time playing HARD SUMMER and one of her last North American appearances before she heads out in the fall in support of Sofi Tukker on their R.I.P. Shame tour.
