With his latest single, dj poolboi takes a favored old song and delicately drapes it with rolling synths. In it, we explore an unfailing joy for life and all the ups and downs that it carries: between the unhurried bittersweet moments and the simple joys there lies Clio and her honeyed vocals making their way into your heart.
Speaking of the single, dj poolboi tells us:
“I first heard Petula Clark’s classic 1963 French song in the 2014 film ‘Two days, One night’. It’s a film I deeply connected with on its theme of depression and anxiety. The song fits perfectly.”
“The chords are uplifting while the lyrics are profoundly melancholic which is something I’ve always gravitated towards; the idea of the happiness and sadness of life captured in one song.”
“I was inspired to give my own interpretation and found Clio to be the perfect fit to put her vocal interpretation on the track.”
