While America continues “falling” in love with Fall Guys, my team at CenturyLinkQuote wondered: How much time do Americans spend gaming in a lifetime?
Now that Fall Guys is free to play, America can’t get enough of it. The video game reported a total of 20 million players in the first 48 hours after becoming free — and it’s only growing from there.
CenturyLinkQuote surveyed 1,000 Americans and found that 30% of respondents spend an average of 10 hours playing video games each week. That’s 20 full days per year and 3.5 years in a lifetime!
Check out the full report to see which games and consoles Americans spend the most time playing, plus the habits of each generation.
Interesting Findings
- 68% of Americans play video games regularly, as opposed to “sometimes” or “never.”
- Gen Z clocks the highest percentage of regular gamers (73%).
- Despite PlayStation 2 being the top-selling video game console of all time, console gaming ranked behind mobile gaming. 40% of Americans play mobile games the most.
- Most Americans play video games primarily for mental stimulation (33%).
- Gen Z is a notable exception. The majority say they’re “obsessed” — it’s one of their favorite pastimes (31%).
