Memorial Day Weekend Destinations 2017

CheapOair has just announced what are sure to be the “hot” destinations this Memorial Day weekend.

Average airfare is down 16% compared to last year. That means savings, savings, savings! So here it is, the list of what are the top destinations for the upcoming holiday, all according to CheapOair – a leading flight-focused hybrid travel agency. We couldn’t be more excited!

1. Chicago, Illinois

With hundreds of attractions, Chicago is filled with things to do and see. Enjoy the renowned art institute, take a walk at Millenium Park, snap a photo of Cloud Gate, or catch a game at Wrigley field. These are just a few of the many exciting things to do in this historic city.

2. Dallas, Texas

For inspiration seekers, there’s no shortage of sources in this large city. With a wide selection of museums, a beautiful botanical garden, and Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park, there are plenty of things to keep your attention and spark your imagination.

3. Los Angeles, California

Venice Beach Boardwalk

Los Angeles is filled with opportunities for adventure. With a large city and beautiful ocean, there are as many activities for outdoors as well as indoors. Take a hike at Runyon Canyon Park, watch an event at the Staples Center, or see what’s happening at the Chinese Theatre.

Other destinations included in this list are Las Vegas, Miami, and San Francisco.

At the beginning part of this year, airlines increased capacity to meet the increasing demand seen in 2016. In the following months, passenger traffic dropped by 4%. Prices plummeted so that seats could be filled. Even with Memorial Day fast approaching, travelers are encouraged to book flights before the prices spike once again.

A tip for travelers: CheapOair’s predictions show that airfare prices drop on Tuesdays each week, and then steadily climb through the remainder of the week. CheapOair has consistently monitored travel trends, succeeding in their goal to educate consumers in all stages of the travel process.
