Experts Reveal 5 Tips To Elevate Your Interiors

Searches for “interior inspiration” have seen a 91% increase in the last 12 months, which suggests many of us may be interested in giving our homes a refresh.

With this in mind, interior design experts at Singulart, have provided some top tips on how to elevate the look of your home. From using a variety of textures to adding lighting strategically, there are plenty of ways to give your home’s look and feel a refresh.

    1. Use a Variety of Textures

A room without texture can appear one-dimensional or just as though it’s lacking something. Ensuring you have multiple different textures throughout your home is one of the easiest ways to help elevate the way in which in looks.

You can add texture in a variety of ways throughout your home, for instance you could try layering different pillows from super fluffy pillows to velvet pillows, or you can try adding a mixture of materials from stone vases to wooden frames for artwork.

    2. Choose Sculptures Instead of Paintings

Long overshadowed by paintings and prints, sculptures are all too often overlooked as decorative pieces for the home. When looking for art we often opt for oils and acrylics, however, sculptures can be a great way to elevate the look of your home, adding tonnes of depth and dimension into a room.

    3. Add Lighting Strategically

Lighting is an important element to consider when designing your home, and it can instantly change the way a room looks from making it appear bigger to adding drama.

The type of light you need can differ from room-to-room as well, for instance, cool light is best suited to practical areas of the home, such as offices or kitchens, while warmer lights work well in the spaces we want to relax in.

Also try adding a mixture of ceiling lights, wall lights, and floor lamps to allow you to have lighting options for different times of the day, or alternatively, opting for lights with dimmer switches to create the ambiance you want in the room.

    4. Dress Your Windows

Windows are always a key focal point in any room, and the way in which they’re dressed can make or break the design for your room. Not only does the design you go for need to compliment the look of the rest of the room, but it can also massively affect the light that comes into the space.

    5. Make Comfort Your Main Focus

Having a comfortable home should be priority over any type of aesthetic look. A home filled with the right lighting, comfortable furniture and soft accessories is a sure way to elevate not only the look, but the feel in your home. Ultimately, you have to enjoy the feel of the room and not just the way it looks.

To celebrate their interior designers, Singulart are also currently holding a design week on their site, more info on this and further tips to elevate your interiors can be found HERE.
