Five Pairs Of Shoes Every Man Should Have Ready

Five Pairs Of Shoes Every Man Should Have Ready

Fashion is just as much about how well you can suit your presence to the environment and context around you as it is about personal expression.

Your ability to be able to fit in and play your role in society is largely dictated by how you look. While there’s a lot of room for variation and expression within those roles, it’s always good to know that you have the right tools to help you look good in any given situation.

Here, we’re going to look at some of the shoes, in particular, that every man should own, and when those shoes are the best pair for the job.

    A good pair of sneakers

A lot of guys have no problem picking out a pair of sneakers. They’re the most casual and easy to wear, after all. However, if you haven’t updated yours in a while, it might be time to look at a new pair. Once the soles start wearing on yours, it’s time to go back online to buy some new shoes. They have to be sturdy and a good fit as they’re the pair that you’re going to pull on if you have to run out for a quick errand.

You also want them to be comfy as they’re great for simply relaxing around on a weekend when you don’t have any obligations to occupy your mind. When you’re buying shoes online, make sure you’re buying them for a purpose. If you’re buying sneakers for exercise or running, for instance, you need to consider some other elements, but we’re just looking at their fashionable function at the moment.

    The straight-up dress shoe

Whether you opt for the classic Oxford style, the Monk Strap shoes, the Derby style, the loafers, or otherwise, you want to make sure that you have at least one pair of good dress shoes available to you at all times. You want something that you can put on when you have to attend a wedding (if you’re in the wedding party, you’re going to be getting a new pair of course) or for when you’re heading to job interviews or black tie events. Thankfully, with so many styles to choose from, you can find a dress shoe that fits your style and preferences. Take a look at what’s available online and try to fit them to the colour and type of suit you’re most likely to wear. They are an accessory, after all, you want to fit them into your outfit.

    The casual boot

There are plenty of shoes that straddle the line between casual and formal. For a lot of guys, the Chukka boot is going to be a clear choice, as it’s versatile, comfortable, and works as well with a t-shirt and sweater and it does with a slightly less formal suit. Chukkas can add a nice bit of visual texture, as well, which makes them a more interesting pick than some of the more casual styles of dress shoes, which also don’t look as fitting with a pair of jeans. Any casual boot can fit in this slot, however.

    The loafer

There are some times that you need something that you’re able to pull on in a hurry, but you still don’t want to be confused for a teenager. Perhaps you need to make a work-related run and you don’t have time to get formally dressed, or perhaps you’re headed to somewhere a little up-market and you want to make sure that you’re still making a decent impression on people. The loafer is the perfect thing for that mixture of convenience while still looking like a functional adult. They’re not quite as suited for hard-wearing everyday use as the trainer, but they have their role.

    The boots

Everyone should have a pair of boots. Not only do you want a pair of shoes that are going to do you just fine when you’re heading out into bad weather, but you want a pair that can handle some wear when you’re out doing yard work or any other kind of physically taxing task. There are a lot of different styles of boots and you might want to consider your specific needs and what you’re going to be using them for before you make any final decisions. However, the service boot is one of the most versatile and comfortable for those men who aren’t spending their day’s metalworking and building houses. Plus they do have something of a timeless look, as well.

You might be able to think of a few pairs beyond those mentioned above. It’s up to you to fill the gaps in your wardrobe.
