Léon Joins Grammy®-nominated Duo, Grey On New Single, “Want You Back”— Out Now. Her Self-titled Debut Album To Be Released This Year.

After closing out 2018 with the release of “Falling,” which Billboard hailed as her “most infectious song yet,” LÉON is kicking off 2019 with a brand new collaboration with Los Angeles-based production duo, Grey called “Want You Back,” out today via Island Records.

The new collaboration follows LÉON’s single, “Falling,” taken from her forthcoming self-titled debut album, due out later this year via her own LÉON Recordings imprint in partnership with BMG.“Want You Back” featuring LÉON sees both artists confidently leaping into new territory. A rush of piano, echoing beats, and rich orchestration creates an inimitable and idiosyncratic soundscape.

Talking about the new song with the GRAMMY®-nominated duo, LÉON explains:

“I’m so happy that this song is finally out in the world! Working with Kyle and Michael on this one has been so fun and special, and I’m really proud of being a part of it. Ever since I recorded it with them I’ve been looking forward to you guys hearing it. Hopefully, you’ll love it as much as I do.”

“Want You Back,” Michael (one half of Grey) sums up, “really shows the scope of our sound for the first time. We were listening to LÉON a lot and thought she would fit perfectly. She ultimately did. Musically, we want to bring something weird and unique to pop. This song does that. It all felt meant to be.”

    Debut Album to Come

Recently, she launched her own LÉON Recordings imprint, partnering with BMG and will be releasing her debut album this year. LÉON reveals on her highly anticipated debut, “it’s something I’ve had in my head forever, but didn’t bring to life until now. This cycle is very colorful. It’s different and bright.“ At the end of the day, LÉON just wants to make a meaningful connection with her music. “I want people to listen and relate,” she says. “If my music could be somebody’s soundtrack, that’d be amazing.”

Since emerging in 2015, LÉON earned that wisdom and freedom by a prolific series of releases and countless performances. A trio of EPs—Treasure, For You, and Surround Me—announced her arrival as an international presence as she amassed over 300 million cumulative streams, made her North American late-night television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden, and earned widespread critical acclaim with Vogue dubbing her “Sweden’s next big thing.”
