    Tekno Joins Mr. Eazi’s emPawa Africa For New Single: Wayo

    The award-winning pop star is ushering in a new musical era, with this new single ‘Wayo’ serving as the first offering from a new partnership between his Cartel Music imprint and global independent label emPawa Africa.

    With over 2.5 billion streams, Tekno continues to be a trailblazer for afrobeats, and his influence extends beyond his vocal talents to his production prowess, having penned and produced hits for the likes of Davido, Swae Lee, and Drake.

    ‘Wayo’ is written and produced by Tekno and Grammy Award-nominated hitmaker ShugaVybz, and it sees Tekno reassuring his lover of his pure intentions and undying devotion over infectious percussion, hypnotic synths, and lush guitars. It comes with a beautiful video shot in Lagos, directed by Forbes 30 Under 30 filmmaker Dammy Twitch (Yung Bleu, DaBaby), and starring Nollywood sensation Uzoamaka Aniunoh, complementing the song’s narrative of resilient love.Driven by infectious percussions, hypnotic synths, and lush guitar arrangements, and held together by Tekno’s enchanting vocal performance and captivating storytelling, ‘Wayo’ – which means to “scam” or deceive someone in Nigerian slang – sees Tekno reassuring his lover of his pure intentions and undying devotion to her, making sure to let her know, “I no come do wayo”.
