UK Rapper Fekky Drops New Single: Heavy Heavy
Championed U.K. Rapper Fekky drafts Haile for laid-back rap cruiser, “Heavy Heavy.”
Bringing a grown and swanky feel back into the new year, London’s championed rapper Fekky has called on the prince of hooks aka Haile for the release of his latest rap cruiser, “Heavy Heavy.”
Encapsulating a nostalgic and luxurious feel from the offset, we are welcomed with Haile’s (WSTRN) signature silky tone and bouncing melodies as he lays down a feel-good hook, “Wake up, chase the bag that’s the regime / Heard we getting money now they all on me / I’m like, I might floss some ice on my baked beans / I smell them haters all they do is talk on me”. Setting the tone for what’s yet to come, Fekky swiftly cuts through with his piercing tone and punching flow for a gritty verse. Harnessed with a bass-heavy and head-bopping production, Fekky explores his journey thus far before later showcasing his achievements from the past few years, “I come from bruddas tryna burst me / To giving out turkeys / We was outside lurking / Now I’m moving with a purpose / Might rock Jordans or shoes on a church ting / On the right side of 30,” he raps.
Accompanied alongside a set of slick visuals, we follow both Fekky, Haile, and their friends around a lavish candlelit dinner outdoors. Contrasting with the energy of the track, dressed in suits, and indulging in fine wine, the industrial surrounding brings back that gritty feel. Set to feature on his forthcoming and highly anticipated Red Wine EP, Fekky continues to tease new music at the end of the visual – buckle in for what’s set to be an explosive year!
Posing as one of South London’s most respected and championed rappers, Fekky over the last few years has expanded into an entrepreneur (founder of F MUSIC), charity boss for the CC Foundation – a grassroots initiative that aims to support young people from all over the U.K. in low-income and socioeconomic areas – and a farmer. Following his entrance into Black British music in 2011 with “BANG,” Fekky has since dropped a slew of notable projects including “El Clasico,” “Brandy & Coke,” to his 2020 release of “4Life.” Continuing to solidify his position in the U.K.scene as an artist who has paved a way for many of the new generations, Fekky has opened for U.S. heavyweights such as Kanye West and The Game, not to mention teaming up with Skepta, Dizzee Rascal, Krept and Konan, and more on a number of serious tunes!
