VEDA BLACK delivers deeply soulful groove ‘Call It Love’ taken from her forthcoming EP Sad Girls Club, out later this year.
Propped up by both BBC 1Xtra’s Jamz Supernova and Earmilk, rising star VEDA is quickly making a name for herself as a one-to-watch artist.
Behind the pseudonym VEDA BLACK is Corinne; a South East London based singer-producer and guitarist who makes music from her flat in Peckham. Raised by her mother, Annemarie, a dressmaker from Jamaica, she was bought up to appreciate her Caribbean roots and her power as a woman.
VEDA BLACK gathers elements of classic soul, Hip Hop & 90’s RnB that fuses into a silky, alternative, and soulful sound added with ruthless lyrics and a ‘take no prisoners” attitude.
With musical inspirations spanning from artists like Anderson . Paak, Pink Floyd, Donny Hathaway to Destiny’s Child; her music has been compared to the likes of Hiatus Kayote and SZA.
