Multi-Platinum Producer Andrew Watt Kicks Off Fall With Two High-Profile Projects
In demand and multi-platinum selling music producer, Andrew Watt is gearing up for yet another busy fall 2022.
The Grammy-winning hit-maker has co-written and produced the highly anticipated new album from legendary rock icon, Ozzy Osbourne, Patient Number 9. The album’s title track, also co-written and produced by Watt, and featuring legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, was a major summer hit for Osbourne, topping Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Other high profile features on the album include Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Mike McCready and Zakk Wylde.
The Osbourne project comes on the heels of yet another red hot release from Watt. The highly buzzed about and incredibly well received collaboration from Britney Spears and Elton John “Hold Me Closer,” was co-written and co-produced by Watt, and the track made its debut at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this past week. Having amassed a wide array of critical praise, the track has “already outtpaced the chart peak of John’s prior Hot 100 smash, ‘Cold Heart,’” stated earlier this week by Billboard.
2022 has been Watt’s strongest year yet as one of the music industry’s most sought after hit-makers. After producing the entirety of Eddie Vedder’s solo release Earthling, in February, he recently landed two genre-bending hits on the Hot 100 in The Kid LAROI’s “Thousand Miles” and Ed Sheeran and Lil Baby’s “2step.” A co-writer and co-producer on both, the former debuted at No. 15 and is expected to appear on LAROI’s debut studio album, while the latter is a remixed version of the track that appeared on Sheeran’s 2021 full-length, =. Watt was also credited as a co-produced and co-writer on “Wrapped Around Your Finger” from Post Malone’s latest album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which released in June. Recently, Watt was presented the prestigious Song of the Year award for his work on Justin Bieber’s 2021 top-selling, No. 1 single, “Peaches,” at the 2022 BMI R&B Hip-Hop Awards. Coming up, Watt will once again have the honor of joining Eddie Vedder on stage at the Ohana Festival this October as part of his all-star side project The Earthlings. The group also has newly scheduled October dates in Paso Robles and Las Vegas.
