Elysaé’s Debut EP Is Here: You Might As Well Shout

Reclaim your power with Elysaé as she discovers her voice through her fierce yet emotional new EP, You Might As Well Shout.

Packed full of critically acclaimed tracks such as “Love Was Child’s Play” (a finalist in the Listen Up Songwriting Prize 2021) and “Mystery” (currently a top 30 track in the Australian Songwriting Association Songwriting Competition), Elysaé’s highly anticipated debut EP “You Might As Well Shout” speaks on all the different ways in which self-expression is both necessary and empowering.

“It’s a collection of moments from my journey of finding and reclaiming my voice. It was my way of turning pain into power and vulnerability into beauty.”

Extracted from the lyric, “your silence screams so loud, you might as well shout” from the heart-wrenching song “Two Sips Away,” the title “You Might As Well Shout,” holds many different meanings throughout the project all relating to using one’s voice, whether it be in moments of strength, vulnerability or longing.

Co-produced by Luke Carra (Caravãna Sun) and Ian Prichett (Angus & Julia Stone, Kim Churchill), the indie-folk record is rich with instrumental detail, creating vivid sonic landscapes that convey her message with conviction. Uniquely constructed with aggressive guitars, raw and honest lyrics, and a large dynamic range, the project is cohesive in its sound and takes the listener on the journey with Elysaé.

“Finding your feet in this world can be a confusing and erratic process. This EP is documentation of that journey and how it was navigating my way through darkness and uncertainty which inevitably led me to finding my inner strength and confidence. I hope this music serves as a reminder of the power of your voice and encourages you to be brave enough to express yourself authentically too.”
