MAUMAUMAU Shares His New Single: “Get Your Feet Wet”
Mexican singer-songwriter and producer MAUMAUMAU unveils his new single, “Get Your Feet Wet” ft. Curtis Kelley.
Co-written and co-produced by Kelley, Mau, and Devin Runco, the song encourages listeners to have the confidence and courage to pursue new experiences, even if it’s just a toe-dip to start.
“‘Get Your Feet Wet’ is a nostalgic sounding song that should take you back to summers in the late ’90s/early ’00s,” shares Mau. “Curtis and I were reminiscing and laughing while writing this song. We hope it inspires people to be proud of who they are while still challenging you to be bold and to step into new experiences with the courage to at least get your feet wet.”
The song marks Mau’s first single following his debut EP, Meow Meow Meow, which was released via AWAL on May 21st. Already accumulating over 50k+ global streams, the 5-track project is led by “Curveball Whip Cream,” and “Famous,” which both received music videos, and the release day single “Happy.” Mau also recently shared a nebulous music video for “Alright.”
MAUMAUMAU is a solo endeavor by Mauricio Jimenez. At its core, the project strives to encourage the underdog, to make people dance and feel feelings. Mau is not afraid to explore the world’s darker side; he keeps it real while inspiring positivity. Imbued with a spectrum of influences ranging from 90s pop-rock to COIN, MGMT, AJR, Oliver Tree, Tame Impala, and others, MAUMAUMAU’s genre-bending sound, witty lyricism, and unforgettable vocals will have you coming back for more.
Jimenez is also the former lead vocalist of Night Lights, the LA indie trio that has accumulated millions of streams, and shared the stage with the likes of Lemaitre, Joy Wave, Great Good Fine OK, Mako, The Score, and Mob Rich. In May 2021, MAUMAUMAU released his debut EP, Meow Meow Meow, and will soon unveil his next chapter.
