Merōn Comes Back With New Single: Thru The Phone
California-based artist Merōn just released her first single of 2020, ‘Thru The Phone.‘
The track — her second single, after ‘Lonely,’ released in 2019 — is a feel-good pop song inspired by Merōn’s own relationship.
Merōn describes ‘Thru The Phone‘ as a “feel-good tune to sing along to when you’re missing your significant other.” The lyrics were inspired by her current relationship.
“I’m currently in a long distance relationship, and used to jokingly sing the hook of Soulja Boy’s ‘Kiss Me Thru The Phone’ to him,” Merōn reveals.
She then brought the idea of covering the song to her friend and producer Justin Gammella (Finneas, Ashe, Lennon Stella, Steve Aoki, Kaskade), and together, they wrote their own fun version of it, alongside Daylight (Shawn Mendes) and David Spektor.
“‘Thru The Phone’ is for anyone that can’t see their partner,” she adds. “Whether it’s been 10 weeks, 10 days, or 10 minutes, I hope this song reminds you of how much you love that person, and gets you excited for when you can see them again.”
