Snakehips And EARTHGANG Link Up For New Single: Been A Minute
The storied UK production and DJ duo Snakehips are again reuniting with prolific Atlanta hip hop duo EARTHGANG for ‘Been A Minute’, a genre-subverting number featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Sinead Harnett.
The first single off the collaborators’ buzzworthy forthcoming 5-track SNAKEGANG EP is set to electrify clubs and festival stages during Snakehips’ current US tour.
An eclectic track about self-growth and newfound independence in the wake of a toxic relationship, this release signifies a reunion for Snakehips and EARTHGANG, who have previously collaborated on various tracks, including ‘Sometimes’ from Snakehips’ last album Never Worry, and ‘Run It Up’ in 2021.
Snakehips shares, “We wrote ‘Been A Minute’ back in January this year. Sinead and EARTHGANG were both in LA to perform at our show and we got in the studio for a few hours before to make some new music. The tune is about moving on from a bad relationship and getting away from the negativity and moving forward with positivity and no bad feelings – it’s a good vibe and was super fun to cook up. We’ve collaborated with both acts before; Sinead was one of the first singers we worked with back when our project first began and we’ve always been huge fans of hers. We’re hyped for this to be the first single from our upcoming SNAKEGANG EP with EARTHGANG.”
EARTHGANG continues, “We had a great time building a creative partnership and friendship with Snakehips. We’ve been fans of their sound for years before the first collab so it’s cool to bring this project to fruition. Hope it’s as fun to listen to as it was to make.”
