WELLNESS: Adler Spa Resorts adds new Adler Med program

One of Italy’s top spa resorts, Adler Spa Resorts has just added an extra dimension to its 5-star well-being services: an upgraded medical program with a six-doctor team specializing in the latest techniques in preventive medicine. Known as Adler Med, this innovative program is part of the two 5-star spa resorts in Italy, Adler Thermae Spa in Tuscany and its sister property Adler Dolomiti.

Family owned and operated since its founding in 1810, Adler Spa Resorts now move beyond typical spa treatments like detox, thermotherapy and stress management to 21st-century concepts like bioelectrical impedance analysis, iomet tests for active cell nutrition, kinesiological examinations, and other advanced diagnostics techniques.

Adler Med includes the names and credentials of the medical staff with brief descriptions of their specialties, which include- bioelectrical impedance analysis, aromatogram testing, orthopedic traumatology and applied kinesiology. The programs range from one day to one week, but they’re merely a starting point since the staff will formulate custom packages to fit the specific needs of individual guests.

TRAVEL: Iconic Santorini – a Cave Hotel that truly reflects Santorini’s history

Iconic Santorini is a Cave Hotel which makes it unusual architecturally and one of the few hotels that truly reflects Santorini’s history. As Architectural Digest noted, the rooms at Iconic Santorini “take the rustic Cycladic aesthetic to a new level of refinement.” Named Greece’s Leading Boutique Hotel at The World Travel Awards in 2014 through 2017, four years in a row, the property has maintained a sustained perfect rating on TripAdvisor since opening in 2013.

A truly extraordinary place, recreated from former homes and shops in one of Santorini’s typical white-cube villages, this exquisite hotel showcases suites that echo the island’s unique style of white vaulted caves, each deftly restyled with modern amenities. The task of transforming the village into a hotel was assigned to the Athens-based architectural/design firm, A&T Kontodimas.

From the sea, the breathtaking view of Imerovigli village hasn’t changed – the five-level hotel fits right into the cliffscape. Indoors, the Kontodimas team harnessed the caves’ rough-hewn white walls and vaulted ceilings to fashion a setting that recalls the Greece of bygone days but adds touches of contemporary elegance.

Offered now through October 15th, 2018 (subject to availability), the Iconic Santorini Honeymoon Retreat package, for honeymooners and other couples in love, can be booked for the Cliff Suite.

The romance package includes a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne on arrival, elegantly presented daily breakfasts served with complimentary mimosas, fresh fruit baskets every morning, flower arrangement in the suite, a romantic candlelit dinner-for-two featuring Greek specialties with a bottle of one of Santorini’s distinctive wines, complimentary mineral water and sodas throughout the stay, a couples’ massage, transfers to and from the island’s airport. Packages require a three-night minimum stay and apply to the specific suite listed above, so early booking is recommended.

OUTDOORS: Copper Mountain announces major upgrades for 2018-19 ski season

In its ongoing commitment to enhancing the guest experience and providing access to an authentic Colorado adventure, Copper Mountain, and its parent company, POWDR recently announced major upgrades for the 2018-19 ski season. Copper Mountain will transform the Center Village guest experience with the replacement of the American Eagle and American Flyer chairlifts with high-speed combination and bubble-style lift service slated to debut in time for the 2018-19 ski season.

The American Eagle lift, a high-speed quad, will be replaced with a high-speed lift that includes a combination of both 6-person chairs and 8-person gondola cabins. The new lift will increase uphill capacity by over 40 percent, allowing more skiers and snowboarders access to an abundance of Copper’s intermediate terrain. A high-speed 6-person chair with bubble enclosures is set to replace the high-speed quad known as the American Flyer lift, offering a more comfortable ride and greatly increasing uphill capacity. The new lift will primarily serve the easy and intermediate side of the resort’s unique naturally-divided terrain and will provide expedited access to Copper’s advanced high alpine bowls.

This announcement is a continuation of Copper Mountain’s demonstrated commitment to providing its guests with local experiences and easy access to authentic Colorado adventure. In other news, beginning on March 6, Copper Mountain will once again offer resort season passes starting at $459 with Kids Ski Free.

Season passes include unlimited access to Copper Mountain along with three free days at Monarch, Purgatory, Powder Mountain Utah and Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico. Passholders can also enjoy free skiing and riding at Grand Targhee with the purchase of lodging. Copper Mountain will also be offering the Copper Four Pack for the 2018-19 ski season.
