3 Ways To Spruce Up Your Space During A Global Pandemic

3 Ways To Spruce Up Your Space During A Global Pandemic

If there’s ever been a time for home renovation or sprucing up your space, it’s now.

You may have had to transform a section of the living room into a corporate office whilst you work from home, or perhaps you’re filling your days with Netflix and DIY jobs you never got round to.

Either way, you’ve probably spent far too much time in the same space, staring at the same walls, and one thing is for sure, you crave a big change. We’ve given some examples below of ways you can do up your space during a global pandemic.

Start with the Outside and Make Your Way In

You’ve probably spent a lot more time at home lately than perhaps you would have liked to, so it’s safe to say you may be sick of the sight of the same four walls. If you’re looking to give your home or space a makeover then we suggest starting with the outside and working your way in. In order to spruce up the exterior of your home, you could start by painting or replacing the front door.

A lick of paint can work wonders, and as different colored doors are becoming more popular, it may be a good time to make a change. It’s all about making that great first impression when it comes to the exterior of your home.

As most of us have spent the last few months basking in the sun in our gardens, you may have decided it’s time to revamp your outdoor space, and if greenery is limited, you might be looking for some grass or an artificial lawn to create a more appealing exterior, and place to relax as you catch some rays. Once the lawn has been laid, try hanging some trendy lanterns, or scatter garden candles to create a cozy ambiance at night. With new social distancing rules in place, it’s the perfect time to give the outside of your home some love and attention.

    Modernize the Space

So you may already have a great space to work with, and you’re looking for ways to make it feel more modern. Before you spend a penny, it’s worth doing a bit of research on modern properties to have a look in mind before you go full pelt with the paint and decorative cushions. Check out the latest modern developments from leaders in the property market, like RWinvest who have a whole portfolio of newly refurbished apartments and rental spaces.

Now that you have your inspiration, you may have chosen to repaint or add an accent wall to your space in a trending colour. A fresh coat of paint is an excellent way to give your room a whole new look. Why stop at the paint when you can continue transforming your space with minor, inexpensive details, such as swapping out your hardware on cupboards and drawers? Brass seems to be the preferred choice at the minute, so it’s time to add a touch of glam to the cabinets with exciting new knobs and handles.

With your freshly painted canvas, go a step further and modify your new accent wall by creating a gallery in your home. Use command hooks to hang frames of comforting photographs or inspiring prints, giving your rooms and feature walls a new lease of life. Finally, add some fresh flowers, or plants and succulents to coffee tables and shelves to give a super modern feel to your space.

    Space-Saving Furniture

Many professionals have now found themselves taking calls and holding corporate meetings from the comfort of their own home. This can become a real challenge if your space is small, so it’s probably time to invest in some space-saving furniture to make the most of your real estate. Most people can never have enough storage, so make sure where possible that necessary furniture items double up as storage solutions. Sofas and beds with inside storage options are great for housing bedding, blankets, and other clunky items.

Sometimes spaces have awkward nooks and crannies, so customized furniture is becoming increasingly popular to make the most of all of the crevices in your home. Try replacing free standing wardrobes and drawers with built-in shelves and rails. A fold-down desk might also be a useful alternative for working individuals who want to tidy away their office and change their living room back at the end of the day.
