The superhero genre has taken the entertainment world by storm, with female superheroes playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping modern pop culture.
PrivacyJournal recently conducted an in-depth study analyzing Google Trends data over the past year to identify which female superheroes capture the most attention across different U.S. regions.
Our research revealed several fascinating trends:
- The iconic Wonder Woman reigns supreme, claiming the top spot in 31 states and showing particular strength throughout the Midwest and Northeast. Her commanding presence proves she remains a cultural phenomenon that resonates across America.
- Teen Titans’ Starfire claimed an unexpected victory in six states – Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, and Vermont – demonstrating her appeal extends well beyond her animated series origins.
- The Marvel universe shows a scattered but significant presence: Captain Marvel and Black Widow each lead in three states, with Captain Marvel also dominating DC. Jessica Jones maintains strong support in Nevada and Illinois.
- Surprisingly, classic heroes Supergirl and Batgirl each topped searches in just one state, perhaps indicating shifting preferences in today’s superhero entertainment landscape.
