With summer vacation season in full swing, our PrivacyJournal research team has just finalized an analysis of 2025 search trends across all 50 states to identify which out-of-state beaches Americans are most eager to visit.
Our research methodology analyzed search data for more than 100 notable U.S. beaches, specifically targeting travel intent keywords like “hotels,” “things to do,” and other vacation-planning terms that indicate genuine intention to travel.

Our key findings reveal:
- Myrtle Beach is the most desired beach, dominating searches in 18 states, with particularly strong interest throughout the Northeast region.
- Clearwater Beach in Florida claims the second position, drawing significant attention from nine states across the Midwest. Despite often being considered America’s premier beach destination, only one Florida beach made the top five.
- Virginia Beach generates interest from both nearby states and distant locations, including California. Four of the top five most-searched beaches are located in the Southeastern region.
- Cannon Beach in Oregon emerges as the West Coast favorite, particularly popular among Mountain region states such as Utah, Idaho, and Montana.
