The Most Beautiful Places To Visit When In Virginia

The Most Beautiful Places To Visit When In Virginia

Located on the southeast coast, Virginia is one of the most beautiful states in the United States.

No matter what time of year, there is something for everybody. Whether you are a history enthusiast, nature lover, or just want to soak up the sun, Virginia can offer you some of the most scenic spots.

Here are three of the top locations to visit when in Virginia.

    Virginia Beach

For a more vibrant outdoor experience, take a trip down to Virginia Beach where it is busy all year round. Take a stroll down the boardwalks, breathing in the fresh Atlantic Ocean air. Treat yourself to some delicious dining options and indulge in the many fun activities in the district. If you are an art fan, you can visit the ViBe Creative District and view the many talented local artists at work.

For anyone whose preferred form of entertainment is sports, then a trip north of Virginia Beach to watch the Washington Commanders play is recommended. The FedExField is just 5 miles east of the capital and was opened a quarter of a century ago, with a capacity of almost 68,000. For avid sports gamblers with an eye for the NFL, there are plenty of recommendations for the best bonus codes available in Virginia, where the North East Conference team is currently in the middle of a testing season.

    Shenandoah National Park

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Washington, then the Shenandoah National Park is just 75 miles west. If you are looking for peace and quiet, then the scenic hills and clear air of the Blue Ridge Mountains are the perfect places for you. You can hike along the famous Appalachian Trail, 101 miles of preserved history leading to an incredible pristine waterfall. Altogether, there are over 500 miles of trails for you to take a picturesque walk on and capture the amazing 360 panoramic views.

If you are interested in recreational activities, then you can go white water rafting down the Shenandoah or go climbing up the polished mountain range. There’s also the option of camping under the stars in the many designated camping spots.

    Colonial Williamsburg

Virginia is not just famous for its beautiful national parks and coastal areas, it also has a rich historical background. None more so than Colonial Williamsburg. Williamsburg was the former capital of the state and is one of the most well-maintained settings of the American Revolution. Some of the 18th-century buildings are still standing, and even structures that have been worn down have been faithfully reconstructed.

You can also enjoy reenactments of events and really get a feel for what life was like in the 1700s. There are two art museums at the location if you want to learn more about the town where both Thomas Jefferson and George Washington spent so much time.

Regardless of season, Virginia can be a special place all year round. Be sure to check out at least one of these special destinations so you can get a real feel for the state!
