    Go off the grid

    When you are feeling low, the thought of trying something new is often too much; even getting out of bed in the morning can seem too much, but if, on better days, you feel like you might be able to, trying something new can be great for your mental health.

    Whether you decide to take professional online keyboard classes to allow you to pursue your dream of a music career or simply enroll on a local arts and crafts course for pleasure, learning something new will give you a new perspective and a sense of achievement which can really help to lift the spirits and boost self-esteem.

    Smile

    Even if you’re feeling blue, the act of smiling can instantly boost your mood and make you feel better. So, although it might feel, strange, simply turn that frown into a pretty smile, even if you have nothing in particular to smile about, and you will almost certainly feel a little better. It might sound strange but it really works and it’s so easy to do, so what do you have to lose?

    Clean your apartment

    Again, if you are not feeling so hot, the very thought of cleaning your apartment might be enough o send you into a negative spiral, but studies have shown that cleaning can reduce anxiety and lower stress levels, It can also give you a feeling of accomplishment and a nice place to relax in, so it really can help to improve your mental health.

    As you can see, there are some quite surprising things that may be able to help you improve your mental health, so be open-minded and try anything you think could work because your mental health is so important!
