Different Types Of Vacation To Try This Year

There is nothing quite like having a vacation on your calendar.

It’s something to look forward to and a chance to let your hair down and forget about the stresses of everyday life. Whether you are someone who enjoys hiking and exploring the great outdoors or being sat around a pool under the sunshine, there is something for everyone.

It’s important to get your vacation booked earlier rather than later so you can get the best deals and also just have something in your diary that you can count down the days until it’s here. Whether you are going away with your friends, or your family, or on a solo trip, there are a host of options for you to enjoy.

Here we take a look at different types of vacation to try in 2023…

Top tips for booking your vacation

    • Book far in advance so you can ensure you get a good deal on the place you want
    • Think about the weather and the time of year you are going
    • Decide on the type of accommodation you want
    • Think of a budget before you go and try to stick to this
    • Book excursions ahead of time so you avoid them being sold out
    • Try and make a rough plan of what you want to do while you are on vacation so you don’t disagree when you are there

Some different types of vacations for you to try

These are just a few different types of vacations that you can try this year. Whether you try just one, combine a couple, or do different ones at different times of the year, there is something for everyone.

    A city break

There’s nothing like a city break if you want to get your fix of culture and activities. From London to Paris, the world is packed with fantastic cities just waiting to be explored. If you’re someone that loves art, be sure to check out the museums in London, if you love sport, don’t miss the sports bars in midtown NYC and if you want your fix of history, Rome has to be on your list. City breaks can be tiring, so ensure you bring a good, solid pair of walking shoes and don’t cram too much in that you wear yourself out completely. You might only need a few days in a city depending on where you are going, so why not combine the trip with a relaxing few days too?

    A cruise

If you are someone who loves traveling but isn’t such a fan of flying or wants to visit multiple destinations in one trip, a cruise is a great bet. Cruises enable you to get on in one destination and visit a whole host of countries and cities without the agro of packing and unpacking many times. Ships also have a plethora of fantastic features, from theatres and restaurants to race tracks, ice rinks and some even have roller coasters on board! Be sure to do your research and find the best ship for you.

    A road trip

Road trips are another great type of trip if you want to see more than one destination. There are numerous recommended road trips you can try, from Route 66 to the Great St Bernard pass in Italy. Think about what you want to see, how long you want your road trip to be, and what you want to do along the way. You could decide to book your accommodation ahead of time or wing it and see what you stumble across when you are there. Be sure to pack plenty of snacks and drinks and plan out your rest stops along the way.

    A self-catered holiday

If you want the flexibility and freedom of eating when you want and having the space to yourself, a self-catered holiday could be the best choice for you. There are a host of places you can stay for this sort of break, with Airbnb and other similar sites having many beautiful properties just waiting to be booked. With this, you will often have the place to yourself and you could book somewhere with facilities such as a hot tub, a private swimming pool, and a BBQ, ideal for summer nights and days spent with loved ones.

    A resort break

The opposite of a self-catered holiday, if you’re looking for a trip where you don’t have to worry about lifting a finger, a resort break might be the one for you. There are a host of resort hotels in many countries and they offer all you could need for a relaxing time away. Some hotels offer buffets or a la carte restaurants, swimming pools, theatres, and other facilities. Be sure to find hotels that are near things to do such as a beach or local town that you can wander into.

    A camping trip

If you are someone that loves the outdoors and being at one with nature, a camping trip is a fantastic choice for you. You can enjoy all the simplicities of life while being in a new and beautiful destination. Many people favor camping because it is very inexpensive and you can see new places without too much hassle. Decide whether you want to camp at a camping site with facilities or if you’d prefer to go somewhere more remote. It can be a good idea to look at resort facilities before you go and read reviews to ensure it’ll tick all your boxes.

These are just a few different holiday types that you can enjoy in 2023. No matter what your taste or preference is, with so many choices you’re sure to find something you love. Try to be as organized as you can before you go, so you can make the most of your trip when you’re there. Have you got any trips booked for the year ahead?
