Culture, Celebration, and More Life in Singapore

Welcome to a land filled with color.

Singapore is a city where cultures meet, celebrations thrive, and life feels alive! From delicious eats to diverse cultural heritage and exhilarating events, what’s there not to love?

There are few better ways to fully immerse oneself in another culture than to take part in the local festivals each year, and Singapore celebrates over twenty of them! No matter when you visit, there will always be something for you to do. Go all-out with the locals when they celebrate the Hungry Ghost Festival, Singapore’s International Festival of Arts, Moonfest, and Christmas in the Tropics.

With celebration comes food. Not to worry! Singapore is known for its grand menu of diverse food selections. If you’re a foodie then you might as well call this heaven! Try some of the delicious local dishes such as chili crab and kaya toast. Plan to visit some of the popular hawker centres such as Maxwell and Amoy Street, selling varieties of tasty, yet inexpensive food. Indulge in Mod-Sin, the modern Singapore gourmet cuisine which gives local dishes an interesting twist.

One attraction that has been growing in popularity over these past few years is the Gardens by the Bay. Located in central Singapore lies this incredible nature park, stretching 250 acres and containing three waterfront gardens. Here you can find the fabled Supertree Grove, where 12 supertrees stand up to 16 stories high. These tree-like structures are actually vertical gardens used for planting and shading; they also act as environmental engines for the gardens. Talk about stunning!

One of the city’s goals of having Gardens by the Bay is to transform Singapore from a “Garden City” to a “City in a Garden.” So far it seems to be working.

But apart from all the stunning attractions and diverse flavors that Singapore has to offer, one of the most incredible accomplishments of this historic city is its airport. Known as the WORLD’s best airport, Singapore’s Changi Airport includes a butterfly garden, free 24-hour cinema, rooftop swimming pool and spa to entertain exhausted travelers. It is truly a piece of art that everyone should experience.
