    Effective Tips For Sustainable Living

You may have noticed that there has been a real push towards being more environmentally friendly over the past few years.

This is due to the simple fact that experts predict we are reaching the point of no return in regards to climate change and global warming. As a result, we each have a personal responsibility to ensure we have as little impact on the planet as possible.

As sustainability has become part of daily conversation – various trends and developments have appeared – such as green weddings and recycling laws and regulations – all of which help to improve the planet for future generations. However, it’s clear that there’s still a lot of work to do.

With that in mind, here are some top tips that you can use to live a more sustainable life.

    • Reduce your carbon footprint by walking & cycling more often. For example, if you were planning to nip to the store to grab a few things, why not walk instead of getting behind the wheel? Not only is this a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, spending more time outdoors is great for your physical and mental health.
    • Switch to solar energy. For decades, we relied on non-renewable energy sources to power our homes – however, this is simply not sustainable moving forward. Not only are these resources finite – their usage has an increasingly negative impact on the environment. Therefore, you can begin living a more sustainable lifestyle by switching to renewable energy – such as solar power. Furthermore, thanks to initiatives such as choosesolar, you no longer have to pay for expensive equipment or install solar panels to reap the environmental and economic benefits of solar energy.
    • Say no to single-use plastic. While throwing away the odd bottle or straw now and then may not seem like a major issue, the amount of single-use plastic sent to landfill sites is a cause of great concern. The easiest way to eradicate these numbers is by simply saying no to single-use plastic. For example, instead of using plastic straws – buy your own reusable straws that you can carry in your bang.
    • Try your hands at upcycling. Whether you are refurbishing your home or deep cleaning your property, it’s important that you don’t simply throw away things you no longer need – especially when they are in good working order. For example, you could donate them to a local charity or even try your hand at upcycling.
    • One of the easiest ways in which you can become more sustainable in your daily life is by being wary of food wastage – as this is again a key issue that needs to be tackled if we want to protect the planet for future generations. Thankfully, there are various different ways to fight food waste. For example, you can grow your fruits and vegetables, support local businesses as opposed to shopping at large grocery chains, or simply exercise portion control and ensure you do not buy more products than you need or can realistically use.
